Licence and purchase terms.
A plain-English summary of what you buy. The full licence agreement will be published here before checkout opens, and shown at checkout.
In plain English
Decided terms. The licence agreement governs if anything here differs.
Your licence
Each purchase gives you a personal licence: Fair Copy Edit is licensed to you, not to be shared or resold. One computer at a time. Move it to a new computer yourself, free: up to 3 changes of computer in any 30 days and 10 in any 12 months. Reinstalling or updating on the same computer never counts. If you need more, for example after a repair, reply to your receipt email and support will reset it for you, free of charge.
Monthly
You can use Fair Copy Edit while your subscription is active, with its updates throughout. It renews automatically when it’s online, with no reinstalling or re-activating, and without a connection it keeps working for up to 7 days after your paid period. Cancel any time before your next renewal: access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for. When access ends, your recordings, projects and finished videos are always kept and keep opening; only making new finished videos and Shorts waits until you subscribe again or buy once.
Bought once
This version is yours to keep, and every Fair Copy Edit 1.x update is included, without another purchase. Version 2.0 and later are not included automatically.
Refunds
Changed your mind? Ask for a refund within seven days of your purchase, or of your first subscription payment, for any reason. If a monthly renewal payment is refunded, that month’s access ends; your recordings, projects and finished videos are always kept. This voluntary policy is in addition to your rights under consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law, which it doesn’t limit.
Support
Documentation on this site, and best-effort help by email with installation, licensing and faults. There are no guaranteed response times, and support doesn’t include lessons in video editing or custom work.
Third-party services
Transcription and AI planning run through your own ElevenLabs and Claude accounts. Their charges and terms are between you and them, and sit outside this licence.
Who processes your payment
Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record. It is the seller shown on your receipt, it takes the payment, and it calculates and pays sales tax, VAT or GST.
Your consumer rights
Rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law where it applies, are unaffected by anything here.

Refunds on renewal payments
If a monthly renewal payment is refunded, that month’s access ends. Your recordings, projects and finished videos are always kept.
